december 26.

For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 4:6

The day after Christmas, Lord.  Let this day and the next be ones of continued celebration for Your plan.  While we studied Genesis this semester, one of my professors often asked us what Your plan was according to Genesis.  It was creation, and then remedying our fall with redemption.  Redemption was all over Genesis.  We didn't have to wait until the New Testament for redemption.  Of course, ultimate and final redemption came with Your Son Jesus in the New Testament, but You kindly foreshadowed redemption in the Garden.  Thank You for calling Your people to You, even while we were in sin, in wickedness, in rebellion, in filth, in evil.  Thank You for washing us and making us clean, white as snow.  Thank You for this new day, a day filled with hope because of what You've done for us.  Great is Your mercy, Lord.  Great is Your grace, great is Your faithfulness.  It reaches to the heavens.
