"how do I make sure that I really enjoy my birthday and make the most of it, Sarah?"
"go and play the piano."

receive screen shots of birthday messages from Facebook from your dad
make a video like the videos below using said videos as tutorials.
call your big sister in florida and talk on the phone for an hour about life.
go to bed before midnight so you can actually wake up and say "it's my birthday," rather than be awake the night before your birthday, which is anticlimactic. but then have your mom and sister wake you up at midnight - literally just as you're falling asleep - to tell you a technical "it's-your-birthday" happy birthday. plan failed.
resolve to take the surprises and joy as they come - without overthinking it and trying to enjoy every last minute until your brain pops.
make music. play the piano. sing.
eat a cinnamon bagel with cream cheese from panera, and hear the people at the table next to you discussing cattle business. that's right. cattle.
go to chili's with your best friends after an amazing choir rehearsal
have a heart-to-heart with two of your besties while at chili's
listen to your happy birthday song, and let the guys do their bass harmonizing thing :)
wear a dress to class
go to the museum, see the Magna Carta, and meet the dinosaurs
eat cheesecake
remember what really matters: that whatever happens, take it all to Jesus. all you have is Christ, and your hope is in Him. thank God for your best friends and sisters and family that remind you of that - in the midst of birthday happiness and fun, and who help you remember that you are blessed more than you could ever imagine or deserve.
HAHAHA. Those videos MADE my day. For rizzles. I love you two so much, and I love your birthday re-cap, Hannah. I wish I could have been there to spend it with you, but I sure am thankful for the hour-long phone call! I love you way too much. Actually, that's not possible. But, ya know.
