Rain clouds so thick they created a seamless blue-gray sky. If she didn't know better, she would have thought the sky was calm, and sleepy. Only at the edges could she see the cotton rolling in sharp contrast and depth. On another side, she saw that the clouds formed a solid, straight block across the horizon. Clouds, clouds, clouds - and then plain clear sky.
Then all of a sudden, the pouring began. A different kind of blurred haze filled the windshield - the pouring of masses of raindrops. Choruses running through her mind, hopes running through her heart, and growlings running through her stomach - she watched. She wondered.
The strong trees, whose arms shook in writhing agony, were mistaken for mere plants with branches flowing passionately in the wind. She parked in the driveway, and sat still until the rain let up. She listened. She heard. She saw the seamless sky above her, and waited.
